HOW TO CHANNEL YOUR BOOK IN 90 DAYS
Welcome Soon-to-be Author!
Start Here:
Before You Begin: Get into a centered place and ask yourself: How would you feel three months from now if you were holding a completed manuscript in your hands? What would your book be about? What would the title be? Who would benefit from reading it?
Next, tell the world you’re writing a book! Notice what happens when you commit publicly. Allow both your conscious and unconscious mind to begin working on your behalf.
Plan for 10 hours per week for writing. This course is self-paced, though it works best when followed week by week.
Join the private Facebook mastermind group for additional accountability, peer support, tools, resources, and to ask questions and share your progress!
Let’s Begin!
Week 1: Welcome to the 90-Day Journey
Lesson 1
Lesson 1.2
Week 1 Homework:
- Brainstorm Without Limits! Gather art supplies and brainstorm everything that could possibly belong in your book. Ask yourself: Who? What? When? Where? Why? And use any brainstorming method that inspires you: Mind maps, Index cards, Poster board, Sticky notes, Lists….Your goal is to generate more material than you can possibly use. Do Not Edit Yourself!
- For nonfiction, brainstorm: Stories, Personal experiences, Case studies, Quotes, Exercises, Sidebars, Resources…
- For fiction, brainstorm: Characters, Motivations, Conflicts, Relationships, Settings, Dialogue, & World-building details
- Create Your Writing Schedule. Commit to writing at least 10 hours per week for the next 90 days. Schedule your writing sessions on your calendar now. Ask yourself: What will I need to say no to? What habits can I reduce or eliminate? What sacrifice am I willing to make in order to finish this book? Track your writing time throughout the course. Record: When you showed up, how long you wrote, what you accomplished
- Create a Mind Map of Your Author Journey. Ask yourself:
- Why am I writing this book? Why now?
- Who am I writing it for? What conversation am I contributing to?
- Who do I need to become in order to finish this book?
